Container for Haiti:
We are so pleased to know that so many of you are setting aside items to donate to Haiti. A container will be shipped to Haiti by the end of September 2oo9. Right now we have at least two locations, one in Southampton and one in Warwick. They will be in place hopefully by September 16th. Bermuda Forwarders has given us two weeks to fill it and then it will be shipped by the end of the month.
Please keep in mind that WINTER CLOTHES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! The climate in Haiti is very hot and the mean temperature throughout the year ranges from high eighties to nineties. Every inch of the container has to be filled with usuable items. Please sort your donated items carefully.
Customs will require a list of items and quantity. Please remember to tag how many items are in each box. We would greatly appreciate boxes that have been tagged by number of items, gender and sizes: Example: 10 pieces of boys clothing, sizes 4-8 or 10 plate, 20 pieces of cutlery, 5 towels, 4 bags of marbles, etc.
The Haitian people tend to be lean and thin. So any sizes above 14 for ladies is already too large. Men generally wear sizes 34 or smaller. Extra large items cannot be used or altered as most of them do not own sewing machines to taylor them to their size.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding items and packing instruction. Your cooperation will make the work much faster to process.

This will be our last trip for 2009. We will post the exact date once we work out all the details.
